Urgent Notice to Mariners

Until further notice, the moorings in Stillwater Cove are not considered safe to use due to potential damage from winter storms.

Do not use these moorings!

Stillwater Yacht Club will not be liable for property loss, personal injury, or loss of life arising from their use.

Location

Stillwater Cove is located in Carmel Bay on the shores of scenic Pebble Beach, California.

Latitude 36.563738, Longitude 121.942942

Sailing Season

Mid-May to the end of September.

Anchorage

Visiting Yachtsman may anchor outside of the POLYGON LEASED AREA shown in the diagram below.  Stillwater Yacht Club has a lease for this Cove from State of California, in which there are 23 mooring balls belonging to the STILLWATER YACHT CLUB.  No anchoring is allowed inside of the polygon where the mooring balls are located and visitors must anchor far enough away so as not to interfere with vessels attached to the moorings.

Hazards: Kelp beds, submerged rocks and varying depths throughout the cove create potential hazards.

(Exercise extreme caution if you visit Stillwater Cove during off-season months of October to April. In the autumn months the swell shifts, coming in from the South. The waters in the cove may be unpredictable and at times, hazardous.)

Harbor Master

During the sailing season, the Stillwater Cove Harbormaster hours are Monday-Wednesday 9:00AM-5:00PM, Thursday-Friday 9:00AM-7:00PM and Saturday-Sunday 11:00AM-7:00PM.

If you are unfamiliar with the anchorage, we suggest that you contact the Harbormaster in advance of your stay, at (831) 625-8520 or email at harbormaster@sycpb.org.

Upon arrival, contact the Harbormaster via VHF radio Channel 68. The Harbormaster will suggest an appropriate location for your vessel.

The Harbormaster maintains a Boston Whaler to shuttle club members and visitors between pier and boat.

Restrictions

Discharge from holding tanks, bilges, through-hulls and engines is strictly prohibited in Stillwater Cove.

No visiting vessel shall be allowed to perform repairs in Stillwater Cove without the approval of the Harbormaster and Coastal Commission.

Amenities

Public restrooms with showers are located near the pier, open 6:00AM to sundown seven days a week.
Fuel and pump-out facilities are not available.
